Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The Department of Crimes against Life of the Police Investigations Directorate (DPI) captured an alleged MS-13 member for the commission of various crimes and the murder of Thalía Rodríguez, the Police reported through a press release.
The murder of trans defender Thalía Rodríguez shocked national and international public opinion. The suspect has an outstanding warrant for illegal possession of a firearm.
The police spokesman, Deputy Commissioner Christian Nolasco, reported that the work was carried out to respond to crimes against vulnerable groups.
«The police work was carried out on the slopes of the Juana Laínez hill by officials assigned to the Department of Crimes against Life of the Police Investigations Directorate (DPI).
The 28-year-old detainee, a masonry assistant by trade, criminally known as ‘Karma’ or ‘Fantasma’, is a native and resident of the place where he was held.
The crime against humanity was reported 20 days ago, when the human rights activist was in her room with her partner, and suddenly two subjects arrived on a motorcycle, who without saying a word they were shot several times.
When the detainee’s background was verified, it was found that he has warrant issued on June 14, 2021 by the Francisco Morazán Criminal Section Court of First Instance for the crime of illegally carrying a firearm, the Police reported.
At the time of being required, the following evidence was found:
-1 firearm, rifle type without series, black color, unknown caliber, possible AK-47.
-1 magazine with ammunition cartridge, caliber unknown.
-1 pistol-type firearm, black, caliber 9 mm.
-1 magazine containing 14 unfired cartridges inside it”, says the press release.
